Many people choose body modifications like tattoos to express their individuality, but not everyone is a fan of such choices. Kerstin Tristan, a 56-year-old mother and grandmother, was once firmly against tattoos—until a life-changing event in 2015 completely shifted her perspective.
Before then, Kerstin didn’t understand the appeal of tattoos, but she made a bold decision to try one for herself. "I simply just wanted to try something new. We all live just once, and I thought that at my age, something real has to come," she explained.
That decision sparked a transformation. Since 2015, Kerstin has spent around 30,000 euros (about $32,000 USD) on tattooing her entire body. Her passion for body art has earned her widespread attention, and today, she has over 190,000 followers on Instagram, with her TikTok videos attracting millions of views.
Kerstin’s Instagram is filled with photos showcasing her vibrant tattoos, from roses on her legs to a leopard print design on her shoulders and detailed portraits on her arms. These tattoos, along with dozens more, cover her entire body, and she loves how they make her feel.
"When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love," she says.
Her bold look has garnered admiration from her followers. One fan commented, "A beautiful work of art," while another wrote, "Wow, stunning photo." Just a decade ago, Kerstin looked completely different, and she often shares comparison photos to show the dramatic transformation.
