A woman was certain that the man she fell in love with in her teens would be the one she spent the rest of her life with. But what was meant to be a fairytale ending turned into a twist of heartbreak and betrayal.

Life can change in the snap of a finger, and this woman had to face the harsh reality of watching her family fall apart. Instead of resorting to dramatic measures for revenge, she watched the consequences of her husband's actions teach him a big and painful lesson.

It all started when the TikToker, with the username @tattylomas, had her husband tell her that he was in love with someone else and wanted a divorce. The news sent a chill down her spine because they had been together since they were teens.

The couple shared three children together, and the TikToker could not believe that her husband was willing to break up their family for a woman he had only known for three months.

Regardless of knowing about this affair, the mother fought for her marriage, but her husband just would not end things with this woman. So she went through with the divorce but warned her husband that he would not get to have a relationship with his son if their marriage ended. 

Still, he expressed that there was something about this new woman that he could not resist and emphasized that he deserved to be happy. Despite how difficult it was to let go, the TikToker still had strong feelings for her husband, but she had to keep a brave face to make sure she did not lose everything in the divorce.

She was happy that she got to keep her house, which was special because she had bought it from her grandmother, but in the end, she had to pay a hefty payout to him. Once it was all over, the mother was able to process her heartbreak.

However, what she did not see coming was the text from her ex-husband begging her to come back home, confessing how much of a big mistake he had made by breaking up his family.

The TikToker felt no remorse for him and made it clear that he did not have a home in their house anymore. She found out that his “dream woman” was actually a very bad person, but while she had the opportunity to talk to him, she did not hold back on telling him what she thought of him as a father and partner.

The mother made it clear that he should never try to contact her again. But more exciting things happened in the TikToker’s life that ensured she never heard from him again. She met someone through her sister who was also divorced. She and the new person in her life both did not want to get married again and have been dating for many months now.

In the midst of finding love again after watching her family crumble, the TikToker blatantly expressed that she believed her ex-husband deserved every bit of suffering he was experiencing in his life. “He destroyed our family without so much as an afterthought,” she emphasized.

The mother found out from her daughter that her ex had finally cut ties with his supposed dream woman. It turned out she had spent all his money and crushed his car while driving drunk. “This is all coming from a woman he knew for only three months,” the TikToker reiterated.

The woman continued to express how delighted she was to watch her ex-husband suffer the consequences of his actions. “Call me evil or whatever, but he brought all of this on himself," she added. 

To end the video, she directly addressed her ex-husband and said, “So if you are watching this, enjoy your shabby one-bedroom apartment and her broken-down car. Oh, and my new partner and I will think of you on our vacation in Hawaii. I know Hawaii was the place you always wanted to go. Maybe I will send you a postcard.”

People in the comment section were glad that the TikToker stood up for herself when her husband reached out again. “SERVES HIM RIGHT!!!” proclaimed a commenter. “YES GURL U GOOOO,” added another. One viewer suggested, “GIRL SEND HIM THAT POSTCARD BUT FILL IT W PICS OF YOU AND YOUR NEW MAN.”

The TikToker chose not to indulge in any hard revenge antics but watched her husband's pain eventually face his own consequences. Now she gets to embrace new beginnings with a partner who shares her values.

They say that it takes a village to raise a child, and this is something every new parent who knows all too well how changeling taking care of a child can be can tell you. Thankfully, there are nurseries, as well as babysitters, that can come in handy when parents need it the most. 

However, leaving your most precious jewel in the hands of people you don’t know well can be concerning. This is usually when grandmas and grandpas step in. 

The truth is that sometimes parents treat their children’s grandparents as babysitters just because they believe it’s their job to take care of the grandchildren. Which, of course, isn’t.

One new mom named Amy wrote a letter to Brightside asking if she had the right to be mad at her mother-in-law who asked to be paid for taking care of her son and daughter-in-law’s baby. 

Namely, Amy has been married for ten years now, but she and her husband only welcomed their baby just six months ago. As she needed to get back to work, while her husband works from home, they had a hard time making arrangements for the baby so her mother-in-law offered to watch the baby while the couple is at work. They were more than happy to accept the offer, especially because they knew she would take great care of the little one. “I truly appreciate her time and devotion and everything she does,” Amy said of her mother-in-law and added that besides taking care of the baby, the grandma also cooks and cleans around the house.

What Amy didn’t expect, however, was her mother-in-law to ask to be paid for babysitting her own grandchild. “How dare she ask for money for precious time with her grandkid?” Amy asked and added that her husband is on his mother’s side and believes she has the right to ask for compensation for the favor she offers. 

Amy asked from the readers to advise her what to do.

Babysitting involves a number of responsibilities so maybe parents should indeed consider offering payment to those taking care of their children, even if those people are the closest members of the family. 

Just because they are grandparents doesn’t mean they have the obligation to help around with the grandchildren. If they are not offered anything in return grandmas and grandpas out there could feel like they are taken advantage of. The question about offering payment should be talked through in order to avoid these sorts of negative outcomes.

So, recently, I went to the shopping mall to choose a dress for Christmas dinner, which I was hosting.

There’s this young woman, Claire. She works in the sales department, and let’s just say she has a knack for spreading holiday cheer in the most unconventional way.

She decided to play fashion critic at the shop, and when I wore a dress that she chose for me, she started mocking me. Loud enough for everyone to hear, she said, “You definitely need a bigger size, or it’ll blow up on you on Christmas, or maybe a diet will help you.”

Some were baffled, some giggled. Classy, right? I ignored it and left the shop, as I had no time, no energy to put this sassy girl in her place.

When I got home, I tried calling my husband, but he was unavailable. My son was present, and I couldn’t hold back my tears while explaining everything to him. He became furious and insisted on knowing the name of the shop to confront the saleswoman. However, I stopped him; I didn’t want to escalate the conflict further. Not now, maybe later.

Christmas Eve arrived, and I eagerly waited for my son and his girlfriend. It must have been the first time we met her. In fact, the whole family had gathered today. It was a special day, and it turned out to be even more memorable than I expected. The couple entered the home, and…little did I know, my son’s girlfriend turned out to be the woman who mocked me in the shop.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. The moment Claire realized what she did, her face turned all shades of red. She was mortified and desperately wanted to escape the awkward situation. She claimed she was suddenly feeling unwell and suggested leaving the house. My first thought was that I had to kick her out. But then, I decided to give her one more chance. Maybe she had problems while mocking me. Maybe it was a bad day for her. Being the gracious hostess that I am, I persuaded her to stay. I stretched my mouth into a smile: “Oh, Claire, it’s so great to finally meet you! Please come! We’ll take care of you.”

As we all sat down for dinner, there was a noticeable tension in the air. The young woman, trying to play it cool, avoided eye contact with me, the supposed unsuspecting mother. Little did she know what was expecting her. We all had an amazing dinner. Laughed a lot and talked about everything. Our relatives shared what happened to them during this year. All felt so relaxed except for one.

From time to time, she nervously made cheap and even cruel jokes, making my mother-in-law feel uncomfortable a few times. I saw my son grabbing her hand and stopping her. But for me, that was it.

There came the moment we had all been waiting for. Right there, in the midst of the Christmas feast, I decided to unwrap a little surprise of my own. “You know, I would never spoil our Christmas, but there’s a person who isn’t worth being here.” I shared with the whole family what Claire said to me in the shop. You could practically hear a pin drop as the truth hung in the air.

The shock on everyone’s faces, especially my son’s, was something out of a movie. Claire, who was so quick to mock others, suddenly found herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

My son, God bless him, couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Without hesitation, he took charge of the situation. He looked at Claire with a mix of disappointment and disbelief and, right then and there, kicked her out, ending their relationship on the spot.

As Claire gathered her things and left, there was a strange sense of poetic justice in the air. The woman who had no qualms about ridiculing someone’s appearance was then facing the consequences of her own words.

Later that night, as we cleaned up the remnants of what was supposed to be a joyous Christmas dinner, my son approached me. He thanked me for being honest and showing him who Claire truly was. He admitted that he deserved someone who treated others with kindness and respect.

Justice doesn’t take a holiday. And sometimes, the best gift you can receive is the truth, even if it comes with a side of unexpected drama. Cheers to a Christmas I’ll never forget!

 

Taking to the Reddit community, a woman wanted to know if she had been in the wrong for contacting Child Services after the mother of six dropped them on her doorstep and said she would be back by Sunday.

OP explained that the mother of the children had an uncanny skill for talking the neighbors into babysitting for her and although she was the type who would say no to taking care of someone else’s children, she was also tricked into babysitting them in the past.

“Yesterday she came knocking on my door again. So I pretended I wasn’t home. She continued to knock harder and I thought she would yank the letterbox right off. So, I went to answer. She quickly said a few sentences that I didn’t quite understand and that she would be back on Sunday,” OP wrote in her post. “She has 6 children ranging from 6 months to 7 years old. I told her I couldn’t and she said the black cab was waiting for her. I tried to grab her hand to stop her from leaving, and I said I was unable to and she ran off and got in the cab.”

OP was suddenly left with the children whom she invited inside her home. Not knowing what to do, she texted the mother writing she expected her to be back in the next 40 minutes in order to pick her children up or she would be forced to call Children’s Services. When she didn’t answer the text, OP tried to call her and told her the same thing. The mother, however, said she was already out of town and she couldn’t possibly return in such a short amount of time.

She also said that if OP couldn’t take care of them, she could drop them to this other neighbor, Jenifer, who was 68 years old and with a fragile health. 

“I repeated that if she wasn’t here in 10 she could pick them up at the local council if they decided she was a fit enough mother. She said a few bad words and told me I would never. So I did as in the moment it felt like she was baiting me. After phoning Child Services I sent her a text that it was done. She phoned me back and said she was halfway to Blackpool and that she would murder me if it was true. So I sent her a video when Child Services picked them up. The police were there too as they said they often tag along for collecting abandoned children in case something criminal has happened and they asked a lot of questions about the mother,” OP wrote.

Now although OP was convinced she did the right thing, her husband, who used to be in foster care as a young child, was fuming at her because of her action. He accused her of separating the mother from her children and that she didn’t give the mother enough time to come and pick up her kids before alerting the Child Services. 

He said she shouldn’t have taken the children in in the first place, but she should have put them inside the cab or leave them at Jennifer’s as instructed by their mom.

“He told me anything that happens to those children in care is on my head and then he told me of things he himself experienced and what he knew of others in care had experienced,” OP wrote and added: “I haven’t slept all that much and my husband left for work without speaking to me. I wonder if I should go back to Child Services and say I overreacted or that it was a misunderstanding and find a way to make it up to the children and get them out of there. I had no idea foster care was that bad,” she ended her story.
